The Schachgesellschaft Zürich's jubilee events will start with one of the best open chess tournaments of the year 2009. From the 9th to the 15th August 2009, players will fight in two tournaments with 9 rounds each for CHF 100.000 guaranteed prize money! The Kongresshaus, not far from the Zürichsee, serves as an attractive location with great playing conditions

The Alois Nagler Memorial (Master Tournament over 2000 Elo) with its exceptionally high prize money will attract players up to the inner circle of the world chess elite. The prize money of CHF 75'000 is donated by the Alois Nagler Foundation. Broadcasting games live via internet will enable every chess lover to watch this spectacle in real time. Players of the Accentus (Schach Schweiz) Open (General Tournament under 2050 CH-Elo) are fighting for many attractive prizes as well. The prize money of CHF 25'000 is donated by Accentus (Swiss Chess). Moreover, in both tournaments players – from rookie to master – are honoured with a lots of special prizes, scaled by age and Elo.
